Defending champions India have been the form team so far at the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, winning every one of their group matches to this point.

Only co-hosts New Zealand can boast a similarly perfect record as the latter stages of the pools move forward.

Having come into the tournament in sketchy form, India have looked impressive since the start of proceedings and will be hoping to make it four wins from four when they face an inconsistent West Indies side in Perth on Friday.

Can This Simple Trick Make You Fall in Love? I Tried

"Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?"

I asked my date as I watched the grease drip off my pizza, like the sweat from my palms.

I was nervous. I've never been good at science. And now here I was treating a date like a science experiment, Psychologist Arthur Aron's 36 Question Love Experiment, to be precise, that you can try too.

You may have heard of Aron's test. It gained attention recently when New York Times author Mandy Len Catron wrote about it after applying it to a date in her article "To Fall in Love With Anyone, Do This." It seemed to work for her; she wrote she is now in love with her date, saying that love is an action and she's in love because "we each made that choice to be."

Love as a science experiment does make sense. Isn't that what dating is essentially? An experiment to see if you (the control) and your date (the variable) are compatible? You test this compatibility through different settings: dates alone, dates with friends, dates to Ikea, and eventually the meeting your parents. You hypothesize the future of the relationship over monthly catch-ups with your close friends: "Jake is great. But I don't think it'll last much longer. He still seems pretty hung up on his ex," you'll confess to your friend Emily over a bottle of Pinot Grigio.

Aron's study took place over 20 years ago in a lab, when a straight couple of strangers sat face to face as they took turns answering increasingly personal questions (like how do you imagine you'll die), followed by a silent four-minute-long staring contest. The result of this experiment? Six months later, the couple was married and the whole lab was invited.

Aron's study took place sober in a laboratory; about 20 years later, the New York Times writer (Catron) tried this experiment buzzed at a bar in Vancouver. My test took place sober (me) and tipsy (him) in downtown Los Angeles on a second date. It was about a week ago, the air was brisk, as we faced each other in a pizza shop, followed by a staring contest in his Prius. Passersby probably thought we were doing a drug deal, as this was downtown.

I did not fall in love. If anything, I fell out of lust. Here are the flaws I found with this experiment:

An Age Investigation: How Old Are the Game of Thrones Characters — and Actors?

Every once in a while, Game of Thrones makes us cringe, and last season, age added to the awkward factor in several scenes. There's the time Lord Baelish kisses Sansa, and a moment between Margaery Tyrell and Tommen Baratheon where it seems like things might become intimate. It's a little awkward, since Margaery is supposed to be around 22 years old and Tommen is around 12. As we thought about these age gaps, we also found ourselves wondering — how old, exactly, are the actors themselves, anyway?

Over the past few seasons, there have been multiple couples with bigger age gaps — we're looking at you, Tyrion and Sansa — but it always veers into uncomfortable territory when we're watching such young characters getting thrust into arranged relationships with partners much older than them. Between vanity sizing, inaccurate measuring charts at e-retail destinations, and the fact that no two bodies are the same, figuring out what size you are isn't an easy feat.

When you're plus-size, things get even trickier. Let's forget, for a moment, that most brands and stores simply stop producing apparel after a size 12. The reality is that a curvier body has, well, more curves. And those curves aren't something you can easily measure — let alone put into jeans.

I will admit that I am simply not a big denim lover. Instead of decreasing the size of your stomach, the Maestro device sends intermittent bursts of electrical currents to the vagus nerve, which travels from the abdomen to the brain stem and is responsible for involuntary digestive functions. These electrical currents suppress signals that tell your stomach to expand and relax in preparation for food. The result: patients implanted with the device feel less hungry, full sooner, and full longer. In a yearlong trial, the 157 patients who used the device had lost an average of 24 pounds, compared to 16 pounds in the 76 patients who did not use the device.

The laparoscopic procedure to implant the device takes 60 to 90 minutes; doctors believe that it may be less expensive than certain types of gastric bypass surgery, and since it's reversible it can be switched off when needed, such as during pregnancy. Like gastric bypass surgery, this new device isn't for those with just a few pounds to lose: it's approved for use in adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 40 to 45 (or above 35 if they have at least one other obesity-related condition, such as high blood pressure). It's no magic solution, but with obesity rates climbing, this new device could be an important tool for helping people control excess weight.

After dinner he sang our song and played his guitar. I cried like a little baby! It was our first official date since he had been gone for two years out of the country! We did it! We survived our two years of being apart, and he was now sitting in front of me — in real life! No more letters. No more long-distance phone calls on Mother's Day and Christmas. We were finally together — and I wasn't letting him go!

Our waitresses (aka our little sisters) brought out dessert and on the platter, there it was. A small black box with something so special inside . . . yep! It was THE ring. He got down on one knee and asked if I would be his best friend forever, and I obviously said yes! It was the happiest day of my life, thus far. I was getting married!

Leading up to the wedding day was so exciting! Plans, plans, and more plans — it felt like it ruled my life. But so much attention was set on the wedding day that one night we decided we needed to talk about what was most important: the MARRIAGE.

After all is said and done, the wedding colors will fade, the flowers will die, and the reception will end. But what is left? Of course . . . the bride and groom — and a life to live!

There's nothing more mortifying than having your tot comment on your or your partner's private parts — at the top of their lungs — in a public restroom, or in front of an elderly relative, or even in front of your own mom. While most of us want to blend into the wall when this happens, there's little we can do but laugh it off — or share the story with other parents! Get Better Behavior Without Yelling

Holly H. is frustrated with her husband's parenting: "It seems that every time he has to deal with the kids he ends up getting into power struggles/arguments with them. One of the specific things that I hear him doing is telling the kids, 'If you don't . . . then you won't.' Instead of the more positive 'After you . . . then you can . . .' They react negatively to this and are much more likely to refuse to do whatever he's telling them to do than if he would say it the second way."

Holly's husband is reacting in a very normal way. Every parent has days when they've yelled so much they're at the end of their rope. Those are the days when you want to run away, and we've all been there. But before you pack your bags, let me share one possible reason why you're being forced to yell, and suggest a way to change things.

Young children tend to gravitate to where they experience the most energy. When a parent yells, he or she exudes a great deal of energy and attention. Think about it from a child's point of view. What do you do when you yell? You stop what you're doing, you turn around, you lock eyes with your child, and you focus all of your words on him. That's a bunch of attention! Children gobble that up and then use childlike reasoning and decide that misbehavior is a good way to get my parent's focused attention — even though they're yelling. No, I'm not going to suggest that you ignore a child's bid for attention; I think that's mean.

I know it's hard to believe that children think they're getting attention when a parent yells, but that's immature reasoning in action. Children don't see the whole picture yet, so they don't really know that behaving well is a better option, unless you show them, repeatedly.

Refocus on Getting a Better Result

The best way to change your child's mind about where to get fully focused attention from you is to shift where you put the majority of your attention. Try shifting your focus, attention, and words to the end result, what you would rather your child be doing — rather than focusing on what he's done. That simple switch will cause a huge increase in listening and cooperation and reduce your yelling tremendously.

Here's an example:

Old way: "Why can't you get dressed on time so I don't have to yell at you?"

New way: "Thanks for getting dressed before we left."

Notice that the parent used a subtle form of applauding. Try to refrain from negative comments or yelling even if it takes your child an hour to get dressed. If it does take that long, skip over it for the moment. Applaud the end result only. And don't use any "hurry up" comments.

For each step of the getting-dressed process, make one positive comment versus making any negative ones.

An example would be:

Old way: "Are you kidding me, you only have one sock on!"

New way: "One sock down, one to go!"

Make It Easy on Yourself

Make sure you do this on a day when you're prepared. Make sure you have no plans to be anywhere. Get a good magazine or book to read while you wait. Make sure you're in the mood to withstand any whining or crying your child may do to draw you back to yelling.

Remember, he's used to being fed attention through your yelling. That's normal for him. In order for him to change, he needs to experience a new normal. A normal where most comments are about things you want him to be doing.

In order for him to make the switch from being fed by yelling to being fed by cooperating and applause, you need to hang in there. One time won't do it. He needs to really experience this, repeatedly. Also, make sure you sound like yourself when you do this. Don't go overboard with the feedback or you'll sound inauthentic.

Soon, he'll understand the new way to get your attention and begin to produce better behavior more consistently. This really does work.
